Ingredient Spotlight:
Resveratrol: Found in the skins of grapes, some berries, raisins, peanuts and cocoa, this potent antioxidant has been gaining attention as a key antiaging ingredient for its ability to fight free-radical damage from the inside. A more recent study, published in the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry, showed that grape flavonoid antioxidants may also help prevent UVA and UVB damage when applied topically. Find this in our Anti-Aging Body Treatment.
Alpha Lipoic Acid: This is the "universal antioxidat". It increases the effectiveness of other antioxidants by as much as 400%, and offers a serious barrier between our skin and pollution damage. Naturally though, it stinks. Which is why it's not often used, and when it is the concentrations are minimal. We use it at effective concentrations.s. Our Daily Bdoy Serum's spray atomizer allows the natural sulfury smell to diffuse, and we've added an extra touch of fragrance (natural isolates and essential oils) off-set the first 2 minutes or so. Totally worth the extra effort!

At least I think so.
So much so, that I've been a little too into it.
Colorful hair dye washes out within a few weeks, and if you're careful, you can put it into inconspicusous little nooks of your mane, so you can hide it when necessary. Or rock it. The moment we become too fussy, we become boring. Here's a quick and dirty how-to:
{yours truly, making sure a first hair dye experience is pink! yes, i'm a great auntie-lady. swear.} Go to your local high school punk rock type store. Hot Topic is a good one. Choose a couple of colors. I tend to go for pinks and light blues. Also get a thin paint brush, a couple small bowls, latex gloves and some conditioner ready. Leave you hair parted normally. Now pick out a couple half inch thick strips from teh bottom. I tend to go for right behind my ear. I like 3 small strips on one side, 2 on the other. Nothing too matchy-matchy. But I've also done just the tips. Your choice. If you like a more pastel effect, mix 2 parts color with 1 part conditioner in a bowl. Know this will wash out faster. Tie the rest of your hair out of the way, and paint on! Don't be afraid. It washes out. Bobby pin those pieces out of your way. Go make a cup of tea, pull out a magazine, and hang out for 30 minutes or so. I think the directions says 15 minutes, but I found it takes longer. Wash your hair, and style as usual! Now strut your stuff, knowing you're rocking a little more edge than normal. If you're really not into the dye thing, there's always clip-ons. But, something about clip-ons makes the edge feel a little too rounded. Although, these ladies at The Stir are rocking it and they look awesome. enjoy! xo, Melissa |
